As a licensed therapist, I specialize in working with folks who are looking to process through trauma, depression and anxiety in various stages of their lives. Often times, my clients have experienced significant dysfunction in their family of origin and continue to wrestle with the consequences of that in their present life. I also find that many of my clients are processing single event trauma. Or, my clients are looking for resources and support as they process what is called little "t" trauma, meaning events which are difficult or disturbing but don't meet the criteria for full PTSD.
Additionally, I work frequently with folks struggling with grief, transitions, boundaries, relational issues, and knowing how to integrate faith with their experience.
I employ a warm, empathic, and eclectic approach with my clients. Additionally, I seek to tap into my clients natural strengths while equipping them for change.
I believe that a relationship with God is an essential piece to living a fulfilled life, however I respect where each person is at in their beliefs and allow clients to decide whether they would like counseling to be faith based.
While change can be scary and at times difficult, I believe it is very possible. Please know that you are not alone in your process of change.
I received my Master's in Counseling from Denver Seminary and am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR). I bring varied experiences in multiple clinical settings including schools, universities, nursing homes, and private practice which allows me to assist you in this journey.
